Giving you the possibility to design your own custom army, composed of mages or fighters, Tactics Arena Online is a true MMORTS, turn-based and played just with a browser.
You can fight all kinds of beasts and golems, dominate the arena. There are 3 races you can choose from: Humans, Beasts and Golems. Each of them will have their own attributes and abilities. There are 19 different types of units in the game.

RuneScape is a browser game built with the help of the Java platform. It contains a 3D world, built as a fantasy land. It’s a popular game with over 100 million accounts created so far. The problem is that it needs some minimum requirements, though they’re acceptable and likely to work on most computers.

Hattrick is a 10 year old game, as you can see from its anniversary logo on the right.
It’s a browser based soccer simulation game, where you take the role of manager for a football club (soccer for Americans).
You train, buy and sell players, prepare matches and pick the line-up for the game. It’s a game that grabs you and there are people that play for years without getting bored.
There are around 929,000 players in the game right now, with more joining every day.
Imperia Online is a browser based strategy game, that happens in real time. The action has a medieval setting, before gunpowder appeared. It seems to be a regular strategy game, where you gather resources, build an army and expand your empire.
You can try to get to your means through economical means, or military ones, depending on the time you can dedicate to the game.
As for the graphics, I like the unit drawings, but the general design of the site isn’t one of my favorites.
A game that is probably enjoyed more by those with little time on their hands and with a love for developing an empire through peaceful means, rather then attacking others, Ikariam is one of the better looking browser games I’ve seen so far.
I’m saying this because generally, those that play Ikariam are more interested in developing and extending their empire than they are to wage war against others. That means less time spent online to fend off attacks or to watch out for them.
About the graphics, it’s well done, but I’ve heard plenty of people complain that it looks too much like a cartoon, so I guess you can’t please everyone.
Ikariam is a browser game, a strategy that takes you in ancient times, like many other games of this type.

An online RPG, Gladiatus is a free browser based game, where you take the role of a gladiator, do quests, buy weapons and upgrade your character. As you do quests, you gain experience, which helps you get to the next level.
To be honest, what attracted me to this game were the graphics, and they kept me in the game for a few days, but ultimately, there is not enough to do in the game to keep you interested. I got bored quite fast, and the quests are quite repetitive.
Give it a shot if you want, but I wouldn’t recommend it for long term fun.
